How to verify a vacancy before you apply
Five checks that separate a credible listing from a recycled or fraudulent one.
1. Find the vacancy at the source
A genuine job is almost always visible on the employer's own careers page or ATS (Workday, SuccessFactors, Taleo, Greenhouse…). If you can only find it on a social-media post or messaging app, treat it with caution. On SISCC Jobs, every listing links to its original source.
2. Check the email domain and contacts
Recruiters from QNB, Ooredoo or Aramco write from corporate domains, not from free webmail. Look up the recruiter on LinkedIn and confirm the company's phone number from its official website.
3. Never pay to be hired
ILO Convention 181 and Qatar's Labour Law prohibit charging workers recruitment fees. Requests for 'visa fees', 'training deposits' or 'medical charges' before an offer are the clearest sign of fraud.
4. Look for a coherent offer
A real offer specifies the employer's legal name, job title, salary, allowances, working hours, probation and end-of-service terms. Vague promises of very high salaries without an interview are a red flag.
5. Check the dates
Recycled listings often show old publication dates or closing dates that have passed. SISCC shows the publication and last-verified date on every vacancy.
